Mummy, what's that man over there doing lying on the pavement?
For a long time this was all I heard people say. In 2010 I had some spare time and bought a camera. I lay around in public places taking photos of mushrooms and dog dirt and after a while my friends thought they'd better humour me by saying they liked the photos. Obviously I paid little attention but soon they started asking me to take photos of other things, including things that were important to them. I agreed because I was invested in making those moments special and because I believed that if I could make things that you find on the pavement in some way noteworthy, then capturing wonderful moments would be that bit more rewarding. It is. And I don't even need to have a shower afterwards. I do anyway. Just in case.
